My generation

My generation is a symbol of change. We are the first generation in a rapidly changing world to grow up with technology as children. Today we can find many forms of technology that we were not around when our parents were our age. Today's youth has I-pods  and laptops which allow s to express ourselves in a way that was unavailable before. Today the quality of communication is much better then it was before. Many years ago you would have to send a letter or a telegraph  to a person if you wanted to tell them something. Another way that you could have communicated with someone was just to see them in  person . Now all you have to do is go on a website like Myspace, Facebook,Twitter or Aim.With just  one click of a button you can be connected to friends and family  who can be almost anywhere in the world.

My generation or "Generation Y" as we are called do not represent  just a change in technology. After September 11, 2001 many rules  and regulations have changed. Like in the airport for example the level of security has increased dramatically in order to protect people from danger. Security has gotten so high that you can only carry small bottles of liquid with you on the plane. Before you were also allowed to bring more then one bag on the plane , but now you can only bring one instead and it cannot weigh very much.
Then again can a generation , a group of people be defined  by the changes occurring  in the world ? Can a group of people be judged for something that they had no control over. I believe that the answer to that is no. I believe a generation of people define themselves. As any older person would agree , a huge percentage of youth today has little or no appreciation  for values and morals which once had much more influence over people and allowed them to expand in their communities as people of respect. The proof of this can sadly be found in the rising amount of abortions in teenage girls as Sharon Jayson from USA TODAY said "  The teen pregnancy rate in the USA rose 3% in 2006, the first increase in more than a decade, according to data out today. The data also show higher rates of births and  abortion among girls 15-19." Yet the saddest thing of all this that the child , another person is brutally butchered out of their mother's  womb as if they were trash. Its sad that so many teenagers of this generation get themselves into such scenarios , but who pays the biggest price? The child that thrown away does because unlike their mother they never had the chance to grow up and build their future.Who knows what could have been of the small baby who was dumped away , and for what simply because two teenagers could not keep their pants on. Not only does a large percentage of Generation Y destroy its own potential but also the hope of the future.
Many people of today including Generation Y do not make mature decisions because they have no experience of reality and life which comes with time and age . They make spontaneous decisions without thinking  or deeper understanding about the consequences that will follow.
